Credit card fraud can happen anywhere. It can happen at the grocery store, gas station and even a hotel. Fraud is big no matter where you go and if you're worried about giving someone your card in any place, it's not hard to blame you but there are some things that you should know in order to ease the worry and know that you'll be safe with a credit card. The first thing that I recommend you do when you're worried about using your card is that you always use credit and not debit. If you use a debit card, the crook can easily drain your account and run away with what they want making it harder for you to recoup your money. If you use credit, you'll only be responsible for up to $50 by law unless your card states they will cover everything. The reason card companies are able to do this is because they will back charge the client where the fraud happened. The credit card company will get their money back but the merchant will have to learn his/her lesson and be stricter with their credit policies. They should always check ID, match the card up with the name and so forth. It may be hard on the Internet but there's no excuse when you're in person. In the end, you should feel safe with your card and as long as you use credit, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Go about your business, have fun and purchase those things that you've always wanted!
